The Name “JESUS” Revealed

The Lord revealed Himself as Yahweh or Jehovah in the Old Testament. Jesus is revealed as Yeshua (Jesus) in the New Testament. (Yeshua or Jeshua) is a Greek word “Savior” “he will save”. Jesus is given the same titles and attributes as Yahweh. The Personal names of Jesus in the New Testament include: Christ Jesus, Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nasareth, Jesus the Christ, Jesus the Nararene. Christ is not a name but title, and comes from the Greek, equivalent to the Hebrew ‘Messiah’ “The Anointed One”

The name JESUS is the greatest name given to us. Jesus is the highest Name of God ever revealed to mankind. The name is mentioned more than any other name associated with God in the New Testament. It is the supreme revelation of God today. No other name of God has been so full of God’s glory, thus revealing His nature to humanity, as much as the name Jesus. The name Jesus incorporates all the character and identify of God since the name.
Jehovah is included in the name Jesus. It is another manner of extending the revelation of Himself as was the trend in Old Testament days by calling Himself, Jehovah (Provider)

The name of Jesus is an instrument for signs and wonders in the hands of a believer. The name puts one in charge of situations. It is an instrument of Dominion that establishes ones authority in times of conflict.

“And these songs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues…. (Mar. 16:17-18)
By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders my be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. (Acts 4:30).”

Since salvation is the greatest revelation and the most recent revelation of God yet given to humanity, the name Jesus is the highest Name ever given: Jesus is the name above every other name, including every other name God formerly revealed of himself.

” Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Philippians 2:9)”

When one declares the name of God in faith, it releases unction for manifestation. Signs and wonders are performed; yoke of poverty, sickness and failures are Destroyed.

” The Peter said, Silver and Gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth riase up and walk. (Act 3:6)
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. (Act 16:18)”

The name of Jesus is a seal the no weapon of the devil can withstand. It is a seal of authority that comes with power.

” Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every other name: that at the name of Jesus every knees should bow, of things in heaven… (Php. 2:9-10)”.

The Names “Holy Spirit” Revealed

The Holy Spirit lives to fulfil His name. His purpose are clearly defined by His name. The Holy Spirit is a person, distinct from Jesus and the Father. He is God. The Holy Spirit has emotions; He speaks, teaches, testifies, convicts, lives, and could be grieved: Acts 13:2, Rom. 8:27, John 14:16-17.

Symbols of the Holy Spirit:

  • Breath or wind John 3:8
  • Fire: Matthew 3:11
  • Water: John 3:16
  • Seal: Ephesians 1:13

Names of the Holy Spirit:

Comforter: The Holy Spirit comforts. The word ‘Comforter’ has several meanings (John 14:16-17).

Counselor: gives us advice
Helper: gives us help in time of need Rom. 8:26

Advocate: Our representative who speak on our behalf.

Strengthener: Our strength in time of need Eph. 3:16.

Standby: shows up when we run out of everything e.g. Idea etc…..

Teacher: (The Holy Spirit teaches us) Luke12:12, John 14:26.

Sanctifier: Make us Holy. Rom. 15:16
Spirit of Christ: Christ’s Spirit that is distributed to us. Rom. 8:9.

Spirit of Truth: Shows all that is truth about Jesus. John 14:17.

Spirit of Glory: for glorification. 1 Peter 4:14.

Spirit of Grace: For divine enablement and ability. Zec. 12:10.

Spirit of Judgment: Spirit of the Father and Son. Isa. 4:4, 28:6.

Spirit of God: God’s Spirit which is Holy. Gen. 1:2, Rom. 8:9.

Spirit of Holiness: for excellence and righteous. Rom. 1:4.

Spirit of Life: gives spiritualy life to Christian. Rom. 8:2.

Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding:. Isa. 11:2, Eph. 1:17.

Spirit of Counsel and Might. Isa. 11:2.

Spirit of Knowledge and the fear of God. Isa. 11:2.
